HOUSTON – March 29, 2021 – PickleJar Holdings, an emerging peer-to-peer cashless tipping app for artists and content creators, partnered with Mo’s Place in Katy, Texas to mobilize a fundraising event in conjunction with the venue’s 33rd anniversary this past weekend. The event collectively raised over $2,600 to benefit the Mo’s Community Recovery Fund Katy and Children of Restaurant Employees (C.O.R.E.), a nationally recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit organization focused on helping food or beverage service employees and their children.

The fundraising event took place on March 26, 2021 at Mo’s Place and featured a live performance by the band Bag of Donuts. Coinciding with the event, PickleJar released its first official soft launch of the PickleJarTM iOS app. Both in-person and virtual attendees had the opportunity to use PickleJar’s proprietary mobile payment service to give a gratuity tip to the band while they played on stage.

Over the past 8 years, C.O.R.E. has raised millions of dollars and granted support to thousands of families across the industry and the country. None of this would be possible without the support of sponsors, volunteers and partners.

“The amount of support we received during our first event was overwhelming,” said Kristian Barowsky, president of PickleJar Holdings. “There are no words to describe how thankful we are for such a successful night and for the generosity of the attendees. The funds raised will help make an impact on so many families struggling during these unprecedented times.”

PickleJar Holdings is planning to launch the app to the general public at the beginning of the second quarter of this year. The app’s many robust features are centered around creating a better connection and experience between musicians, fans and organizations while streamlining the “giving back” process for everyone. The app also has the ability for artists to be able to choose to split their tips with their favorite local charity, helping artists promote and perform special events while supporting their communities.
