NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — A revolutionary way to support those hit hard in the music industry by the pandemic got its start in Music City.
American Idol winner Trent Harmon is now a Nashvillian and credits this new PickleJar tipping app with revolutionizing the way artists are supported.
During the pandemic, when so many artists streamed their shows online, this app allowed fans to tip virtually.
Now that we’re back open, cashless transactions are here to stay.
Harmon says, “So far if a $100 dollar tip comes in to that account $100 dollars goes to my routing number on my banking account. That doesn’t exist anywhere in my world except here.”
The tipping app founders worked on it for two years, but say the pandemic accelerated the cashless transaction concept.
Kristian Barowsky, the President of PickleJar explains, “We were at a Honky Tonk here in Nashville and I think everybody wants to support who’s on stage when they came through with the tip bucket we didn’t have any cash.”
The CEO of Picklejar Jeff James says, “We believe PickleJar will actually unlock the greatest advancement of creativity since the Renaissance because it will allow the artist to focus 100% on their craft.”
There’s also a feature on the app that lets artists donate some of their tips to their favorite charities.
