HOUSTON – NOVEMBER 18, 2021 – PickleJar Holdings, an emerging peer-to-peer cashless tipping platform for artists and content creators, teamed up with HoustonLive and the Houston Songwriter Association to co-host the Ranch Style Jams fundraising event on November 20, 2021, featuring a variety of Houston singer-songwriters. The event will be hosted at Astral Brewing from 4:30 PM to 8 PM, with PickleJar proceeds and donations to benefit the Stevens and Pruett Ranch Foundation. The Houston Songwriter Association, of which many of the featured artists are a part of, will be in attendance to support the cause. This year’s event is hosted in memory of Bill Powell, a key member of the Stevens and Pruett Team.

“Houston is quickly becoming known as a hot bed for breakout musicians. Not only do these artists have tremendous talent, but they also have big hearts and never pass up an opportunity to give back,” said Tracy DeJarnett, HoustonLive founder. “Ranch Style Jams is a great opportunity to support the Stevens and Pruett Ranch Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting foster children and rescue horses. We are doing it this year in honor of Bill Powell, a critical member of the Stevens and Pruett team who we lost way too soon.”

The PickleJar app was designed to create a better connection and experience between musicians, fans and organizations during in-person and livestreaming events by making the “giving back” process easier for everyone. A “Donate Now” campaign will be put in place prior to the event to support live fundraising from the stage. During the concert, fans will be able to send tips and donations directly to the performers and the non-profit through the PickleJar iOS app. The free event, which is part of HoustonLive’s annual Fall Festival program that works to highlight up-and-coming artists and give back to Houston-based charities, will feature performances from local artists like Jay Harris, Angie Goeke, Faith Lee, Ray Wyatt, John Taylor, Wild Rabbit Salad, and Grifters & Shills, as well as a silent auction, live music, and raffles. Attendees will also have the opportunity to purchase donor tickets for reserved seating.

“When we started PickleJar as a tipping and fan engagement app for artists, we designed it for artists just like the ones participating in Ranch Style Jams that realize the benefit of giving back,” said Jeff James, PickleJar CEO.  “This unique venue and these incredible performers are sure to give us an event filled with great music and fundraising for a very important cause.”

Founded on the idea that artists should have full control over the profitability of their creative talents, PickleJar is a suite of Artist-First technologies developed with a simple idea – “help others achieve the greatest value for their creative talents and visionary pursuits.” PickleJar’s gaming-inspired features give fans instant access to the performer through private direct messages and picture sharing – earning them loyalty rewards, achievement badges and exclusive “Tip-to-Win” giveaways. Most importantly, artists receive 100% of funds sent by fans through the PickleJar platform.
